How is the efficiency of the air filter tested?

Regarding the standards of air filters, each country and region has corresponding standards. In international trade, everyone needs to confirm the required standards and confirm the correct filter efficiency of the product.

Filter efficiency test method standard:

The United States was the first to carry out air filter efficiency test method standards. In 1999, the American ASHRAE Association's C-L-M-H-UH efficiency classification

Several experimental methods:

1. Arrestance

The test dust source is large-particle, high-concentration standard dust. Arizona Road Dust from Arizona was used in the U.S. test. The weight of the test dust held by the filter is called the "dust holding capacity".

Relevant standards: American Ansi/ashrae 52.1-1992, European EN 779:1993, Chinese GB12218-89

2.Particle Efficiency

The instrument for measuring dust is a laser particle counter. The instantaneous efficiency of each stage is measured multiple times based on the weighted average of the amount of dust generated.

Relevant standards: European Eurovent 4/9-1993 American ASHRAE 52.2-1999

Other standards include: sodium flame method, Sodium Flame method, DOP method, etc.

As a socially responsible enterprise, SAF has collected different literature and drawings to create a standard comparison chart for each region for everyone's reference.
