
According to Appendix A of the "Design Standard for Lithium Ion Battery Factories" (GB 51377-2019), the four key components of a battery are the positive electrode (cathodic discharge), negative electrode (anodic discharge), electrolyte, and membrane. In the core production process flow, some process equipment, such as laser welding machine, electrode slice cutting and stacking machine, coil cutting machine and coating equipment, will be used when the electrode slice manufacturing, core manufacturing and other processes are involved. These devices need to meet certain air cleanliness requirements in the production environment. In addition, Appendix A of the "Code for Design of Clean Buildings in the Electronic Industry" (GB 50472-2008) specifies the requirements for air cleanliness levels for different categories of electronic products, including the air cleanliness levels of lithium battery products and processes, as well as the particle size of pollutants that need to be controlled.
Lithium batteries, as high-precision electronic products, may have dust, particulate matter, and other pollutants attached to the interior or surface of the battery, leading to decreased battery performance, shortened lifespan, or even malfunction. By controlling air cleanliness, the presence of these pollutants can be effectively reduced, ensuring the quality and reliability of lithium battery products.
